COMMUNITY MISSION CONNECTIONS
Local Neighbors
Bare Essentials & Kitchen Cupboard
Working with sister churches in the Soulanco Mission Link, we gather donated items for the Kitchen Cupboard and Bare Essentials. These two ministries, hosted at Mt. Nebo UMC, provide cleaning items, kitchen supplies, backpacks, and children’s undergarments/socks.
Bible Adventures
We host a Released Time through Joy-El Ministries for students from Quarryville Elementary School every Tuesday afternoon throughout the school year. Click here to register your child for Bible Adventures, or click here to volunteer!
Christmas Gift Party
For many years we have hosted an annual Christmas Party for the residents of a local neighborhood: We enjoy a wonderful meal together, enjoy crafts and games together, and they leave with gifts to help make their season a little brighter in His name. We begin gathering gifts and donations near the end of November.
Fall School Supply and Backpack (and Ice Cream!) Giveaway
Our third-annual Kids School Supply and Backpack Giveaway is in the planning phase for late summer 2022. In cooperation with the churches of the Soulanco Mission Connection we gather donations in August and invite the community over for a little ice cream party!
Red Cross Blood Drives
We host a Red Cross blood drive every two months in Keeler Hall. Click here to see the blood drives coming up in this area.
Solanco Neighborhood Ministries – including Food Bank
Solanco Neighborhood Ministries is a jewel in the crown of Southern Lancaster County – working with multiple churches to band together to meet needs in the area. Watch a 2020 tour here. We collect much-needed food for the Food Bank on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Here is the current list of items the Food Bank is requesting. We also periodically raise funds to support the broader SNM work which includes the SWEEP food program for school children, holiday meals, heat-matching utility program, Samaritan Assistance program, homelessness resources, clothing assistance, diaper depot, budgeting counseling, gas cards and more.
New Hope Community Life Ministry
The purpose of New Hope Community Life Ministry promotes the healing and abundant life of individuals and families from a Christian perspective; and to bring together resources of the church and community to strengthen relationships. The New Hope Counseling Center serves couples and individuals who are dealing with depression, anxiety, life changes, relationship issues, grief, personality issues or spiritual issues.
